The 44th Annual Meeting of the Mint Industry Research Council Has Been Cancelled.
A Message from Dana Wendel, MIRC Chairman
I just want to share an update with everyone regarding the MIRC's Annual Meeting that was set for January 26 & 27, 2022. With the health and safety of our members being in the forefront, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel the meeting.
California continues to be a COVID-19 hot spot with daily cases setting record highs. Flights are being cancelled throughout the country, making travel very difficult. We know that these things coupled with the geographic diversity of our attendees and corporate travel restrictions, make holding a successful, well attended meeting a challenge.
This was a very difficult decision. We’re disappointed that we’ve had to cancel the meeting for a second year, but the risks to member health are simply too great. Ultimately, a cancellation was the best option.
If you have registered to attend the in-person meeting and would like your registration fee refunded, please contact the MIRC office (Jenny@ostlund.com
). Otherwise, those funds will be used to defray the costs of cancelling this event.
We plan to hold the 2022 Annual Scientific Affairs Committee and Board Meetings virtually so we can keep the business of the MIRC moving forward. Those will take place during the week of January 24, 2022.
I want to extend my thanks to all of you for your flexibility during this challenging time. If you have any questions about these announcements, please contact the MIRC office.
